Gaggenau Home Appliances
The difference is Gaggenau.
One of life’s greatest privileges is to surround yourself with objects that satisfy you completely. So often, finding them involves a lengthy search where every detail constitutes knowledge gained. And as your knowledge grows, so your demands increase. At Gaggenau, our business is developing appliances for the home kitchen and, in doing so, we make no compromises in our attempt to attain the greatest perfection possible. We’re guided by the experiences and demands of professionals at all times, and this applies as much to the features of our appliances as it does to their appearance. We’ll show you features you’ll wonder how you ever did without – new technological innovations that make long-familiar problems a thing of the past. Our practical masterpieces are crafted by hand in a process involving numerous steps to create objects of timeless beauty which, at the same time, are endlessly robust.
Gaggenau was founded in 1683 and has been involved in the manufacture of metal consumer goods from its outset. Before long, the company came to specialize in enamel products and Gaggenau’s recipe for its sturdy oven enamel became the basis for the success of its charcoal and gas ovens, which it continued to manufacture until well into the 20th century. In 1961, Gaggenau was acquired by the visionary entrepreneur Georg von Blanquet, under whose leadership it became a premium international brand. Von Blanquet was excited by the idea of custom-made built-in kitchens, which was revolutionary for that time. A passionate cook in his spare time, von Blanquet accepted no compromises in his quest for creating restaurant-grade appliances incorporating a straight-forward and functional design – a creed to which Gaggenau has remained faithful to this day.
Only the toughest, finest-quality materials are suitable for consistent use in a kitchen over a period of many years. Standard designs seldom meet such requirements. A good example are the hinges on our refrigerators: in order to hold the heavy refrigerator doors over decades it is necessary to produce extremely robust hinges. Details like the choice of materials and finishing are difficult to see at first sight, but they can certainly be felt. And over the years, you will find that not only are Gaggenau appliances extremely long-lasting, they also become more impressive each time you use them.
No other company has revolutionized the art of home cooking as much as Gaggenau: built-in ovens, glass ceramic cooktops, pyrolytic self-cleaning, the Combi-steam oven for the home and oven doors that can be opened from the side. Or the AT 400 backsplash ventilation – the first highly efficient air recirculation appliance with new technology that enables it to remove large quantities of grease particles from the air. The list of our achievements is remarkable. But that doesn’t mean we’re satisfied. More than 30 researchers and developers are already working on new ideas.
